New York is one of the states with a live HEAR portal. Income-qualified households can receive up to $8,000 for a heat pump. That is federal money administered in the state, not the Clean Heat rebate under another name.

Treat HEAR as a second reservation, not as a line the contractor will automatically add. If the household does not pass the income screen, the Clean Heat rebate still stands on its own.

What no longer stacks

The federal 25C tax credit ended for equipment installed after 2025. Official New York pages still mention Inflation Reduction Act tax credits. For a 2026 install, subtract 25C from any combined figure you were shown last year.
